Swastikas, Racial Slur Found Spray Painted On Virginia Sidewalk, Vehicles, Police Say

An investigation has been launched in Virginia after there were reports of hateful imagery found on a sidewalk and painted on at least two vehicles earlier this week, police say.

Officers from the Arlington Police Department were called to the 5700 block of 27th Street North early on Monday morning to investigate reports of graffiti in the area.

Responding officers found a swastika painting on the sidewalk, and while canvassing the area, found two vehicles in the 2700 block of North Jefferson Street that had been spray painted, one of which included a swastika and racial slur.

The incident is now being investigated as a possible hate crime, police said on Thursday.
